The Color Edit: Light Blue + Dark Chocolate Brown.
I love to play with contrasts, though my home is almost completely neutral. Contrast can be achieved not only in color “dimension” but also in patterns, finishes, and materials… so in my bedroom, I played the warm wood (oak cabinet) + cool shiny steel (candleholder) card. White accessories (lamp, candles, canvas) and white walls give a great background and accurately frame all the colors and textures.
Here are several more pieces to recreate this colors and textures combination in any room:
1/ TEKLA Fabrics Bedding in Iceland Blue 2/ Caia Leifsdotter, Psychodelic Mirror, available at The Ode To. (The Ode To is an online gallery where each artwork is carefully selected from the best contemporary artists out there). 3/ FRAMA AML Hocker in dark brown. Or Frama 01 Chair in warm brown - available here and here. 4/ 101 Copenhagen Vases - love their colors and shapes selection! Irregular forms and perfectly “imperfect” shapes add visual interest to the space full of simple lines and neutral colors.
+ In my bedroom photo you can spy Applicata Shape Vase in black - one small detail, but for me it makes the whole picture finished (finally gives enough contrast).
1/ HAY Italian Ice-cream Cup. Love their vintage look. Available here, here. 2/ Light blue linen tablecloth - found this particular color on Etsy. 3/ H&M Cushion cover. 4/ Menu New Norm collection, in brown. Available here, here. 5/ Flos - Bellhop LED Table lamp. Also here. 6/ HAY Indian Steel Pitcher.
+ For the table setting I would add white metal cutlery, some white/off-white porcelain or transparent glass pieces, and (again) a tiny black accent.
Also, you can check my Current Home Edit for more pieces that would complement this selection nicely.
