Though our garden now looks more like a building site (that’s why I used one of my photos from our trip to St. Peter-Ording beach as the cover photo :)) ), I do hope things soon get back to normal. Time to go out! And to choose new furniture and accessories for the outdoor space.
Here is the round-up of items that caught my eye this season. All of the items are of my favorite “style”: lost somewhere between Nordic and Japanese layered or habitable minimalism. For preview images, I chose all items in neutral colors, but a lot of them are available in many other colors. Items are arranged by category and most of them can be easily mixed together to create a laid-back and effortless outdoor space look.

Gubi Outdoor F-Lounge Chair. Also here.
HAY Crate Lounge Chair - chunky wooden outdoor lounge chair, available in different colors: pine, white, London fog, black, and iron red. At the moment available here, but almost everywhere else waiting times are up to 8 weeks, so here are some alternative places to check up on them: here, here, and here.
KARUP Design Boogie foldable chair with wooden base and textile seat, available in many color combinations. But keep in mind that you can’t just leave them outdoors in the rain, etc. They are more for a covered patio or terrace or to take with you for a relaxed day at the beach. Also available here.
FermLiving Desert Lounge Chair - I bet you’ve seen this one already a lot, my choice - in olive color with a “cashmere“ metal base or in “cashmere solid“.
HAY Palissade Lounge Chair Low - metal chair, another very popular design - I love it, particularly in this finish/color - ‘hot galvanized’ (in German - ‘verzinkt‘), though it’s almost twice more expensive than the same model in other colors.
Skagerak Lilium Lounge Chair - usually I vote for the chairs with armrests for more comfort, but this chair looks so good that I couldn’t resist…. :))
FDB Møbler M6 Garden Lounge Chair - timeless design to my mind, and great craftsmanship. I even don’t know what to add... Spotted here and here.
Noo.Ma Nokk Hocker.
Carl Hansen & Son Folding Chair BM4570 Outdoor Teak. + here.
Magis Spun rotating chair. It looks like a lot of fun! :) Also still available here.
Driade Tokyo-Pop Outdoor Barhocker - I love its asymmetrical shape!
Ikea HAVSTEN Outdoor Sofa.
Almost all those lounge chairs have complementing tables/stools, and seat cushions from the same collections for a more sophisticated and streamlined look for your garden/outdoor set. Or you can for sure mix designs for a more playful look.
Outdoor Dining Tables / Side Tables / Low Tables.

Skagerak - Lilium Lounge Table.
When choosing outdoor furniture, don’t forget to consider:
Its size - if you’ll need to store it in the basement or somewhere else during the cold season;
Weight - how often will you or your kids need to move it around?;
Will it really serve your purpose? If you mostly use your garden or terrace for outdoor dining - then an outdoor dining table and chairs will serve better than an outdoor sofa with a low sofa table, right? And vice versa if you use your outdoor space for let’s say reading a book while lying on a comfortable lounger. Of course, you can have both, no questions asked ;)
Shape, seat height - how do you usually prefer to sit, and what are your favorite poses? will this particular chair allow you to sit “your way”? I, for example, usually sit in all crazy poses, but not like “normal“ people, according to my mom ;)
How easy it will be to care for this furniture?
In general, it’s always a nice idea to read the item descriptions carefully before buying…
